This month a lot of the magazines that came in have sold out already. If there are any magazines that you particularly like, let me know and I can notify you as soon as they come in. Art Journal class
Would you be interested to do a monthly art journal class in the evening, I can hire the hall on Friday nights. At the this stage I am just getting a list of people interested and then work out the details. If its just once a month it would give you the opportunity to do research if needed. My thoughts are a journal of memories, so it would incorporate your own photo's and the choice to journal the history the relates to those photo's.
Above is a sample of one I am working on at the moment. Techniques in this one include collage using printed photo's, stamping, painting and journal writing. You will learn of what materials you can use, how to use them, keep balance in your pages and to tell a story.

Stampington Magazines finally arrived
Took 4 weeks but they are finally here and worth the wait, and now you probably have more time to enjoy them

As I give a discount on the magazines I can no longer subsidise the postage.
For 1 Somerset Studio the postage is $2.75 with no tracking
or $12.60 for overnight post and that will hold up to 5 or 6 magazines, I know this is expensive but Australia Post put up their freight rates to just ordinary in an envelope for magazine under 500 grams which Somerset studio falls into just under that weight but there is no tracking so it can and sometimes does go missing. The safest way is the overnight rate of $12.60 and if you are getting several magazines it evens the cost per magazine out. If anyone knows of a cheaper freight I would be grateful as the freight is a major headache, especially when you are trying to keep your prices down.

First class for 2012 Tuesday
We restart Tuesday classes on the 10th January 2012 at the Community Hall in Marks Place, Morley, 10am to 12. I have finally got the sample prepared. We will be doing two of these Coptic bound books this dark coloured one and one in pale creams etc using more lace and vintage items, I would think this will go over three weeks by the time you bind both books. The covers are collaged and then painted in Golden fluid acrylics. A small collage of fabrics and beads will be hand sewn and attached. There are 4 signatures bound in linen thread to covers.
I have new linen thread that we will be using in this class and will have extra colours for sale. As of today the Stampington magazines have still not arrived and Jeanne d'Arc Living is on its way as well so will have plenty of reading material when they arrive.

change in website
Hi to all our customers, I hope you had a good Christmas and 2012 will be filled with fun and creativity. We have decided to close our website and operate our online shop from this blog. As new products arrive we will post them here and if you want to purchase you can either phone me on 08 9377 2343 or email on jackyjohn1@optusnet.com.au. We will still have credit card facilities or you can pay by direct debit to our bank account or send a cheque. I will also advertise classes and workshops here. And as I do samples I will list the products I have used and if we have them in stock or advise where to purchase. I will post an update of the magazines I still have in stock and I am expecting any day now the Stampington order of Somerset Studio's, Art Journalling and Somerset Life, they where sent on the 15th Dec and I am presuming they have been held up with all the Christmas post coming through. As soon as they arrive I will notify you. I would like to thank you for your past support and hope that you will continue to do so. If you no longer want emails from us, please don't hesitate to email me back and I will take you off our mailing list, this is much easier now than it was on the website. Following are some board books I stripped back, collaged and painted for gifts for Christmas and also for selling at Perth Upmarket before Christmas. I am also teaching them at a workshop at Carers WA to a large group of older children on Thursday, something I am really looking forward to.
